You will be picked up from your Dar es Salaam airport or hotel for a scenic road trip to Nyerere National Park (formerly Selous). This overland journey offers a great introduction to Tanzania’s landscapes and rural life. For guests who prefer a quicker transfer, a direct flight from Dar es Salaam or Zanzibar is also available.
You’ll arrive in the park in time for a late lunch, followed by leisure and a beautiful sunset. As the afternoon cools, enjoy the sweeping wilderness and your first wildlife encounters from elephants and giraffes to hippos, antelope, and abundant birdlife. After your safari, you will return to Dar es Salaam by road, completing the full round‑trip experience.

Day 1: Dar es Salaam to Nyerere National Park (Selous Game Reserve)

Day 2: Full day Nyerere National Park
after breakfast, you will be departing for full day or half day game drive in Nyerere Park. Picnic or Hot LunchThe Park was formerly called “Selous Game Reserve,” and in 2019 it gained national park status. It is the largest national park in Africa. Covering an area of 30000Km2. This park’s history and sense of mystique adds to its attractions. It was named after Fredrick Courtney Selous, a well renowned explorer and British Army Officer in the Royal Fusiliers. Selous was killed in combat along the Rufiji River, which flows through the park. Today, it takes its name from Julius Nyerere, the first president of Tanzania, widely viewed as the father of the modern nation-state. Day 3: Full-day Nyerere Park
