Day 1: Arrival at Dar es Salaam International Airport – Tanzania Safari Start
We assumed you arrived with early morning flights, and after clearing customs and passport control at Dar es Salaam International Airport, you will walk out of the airport to meet our driver who will be holding a page board with your name clearly printed, you will be assisted to the vehicle for road transfer to the city to enjoy Swahili Cuisine.

Day 2: Tanzania Safari Route: Dar es Salaam – Kigoma – Gombe National Park
You will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to Dar es Salaam Airport for your early morning flight to Kigoma. Upon arrival, meet your driver‑guide for a transfer to Kibirizi Fish Market and the local dhow jetty, where you will board your traditional dhow boat for the scenic journey to Gombe National Park the renowned “Chimpanzee Paradise.”
Spend the rest of the day trekking through Gombe’s lush rainforest with a park ranger, observing wild chimpanzees and enjoying guided nature walks. Lunch will be served at the bandas along the beach.
In the evening, enjoy sunset views, swimming, and leisure time before dinner and an overnight stay at Kasekela Luxury Tented Camp inside the park.

Day 3: Full Day Journey: Kigoma to Gombe Stream National Park
Spend the day immersed in the wild beauty of Gombe National Park as you trek through lush tropical forests with a professional ranger, tracking wild chimpanzees in their natural habitat. Enjoy a variety of guided activities including nature walks, snorkeling, hiking, and swimming in the crystal‑clear waters of Lake Tanganyika. As the day comes to a close, unwind with peaceful leisure time, admire the golden sunset over the lake, and savor a delicious dinner. Your overnight stay will be in a luxury tented camp, perfectly nestled within the park’s tranquil surroundings. Day 4: Gombe to Mahale Mountains: Western Tanzania Safari Connection
After a leisurely breakfast in Gombe National Park, board your dhow boat for a scenic return across Lake Tanganyika to Kigoma, where your safari vehicle awaits. Begin the overland journey to Mahale Mountains National Park, passing through the local villages of Ilagala, Sigunga, Logosa, and Mgambo along rugged, dusty roads that reveal the untouched beauty of Western Tanzania.
Upon arrival at Mgambo, meet the Mahale park team for a 25‑minute boat transfer to Mahale. Settle into your bandas and enjoy optional evening nature walks, swimming, or relaxing along the lakeshore.
End the day with a peaceful sunset, leisure time, dinner, and an overnight stay at Mahale TANAPA Bandas.

Day 5 - 6: Mahale Mountains National Park
With two full days in Mahale Mountains National Park, begin each morning with breakfast before setting out on a full‑day chimpanzee trekking adventure led by an experienced park ranger. Hike through dense montane forests in search of wild chimpanzees, observing their natural behaviors, vocalizations, and social interactions an extraordinary primate encounter found only in Mahale.
After returning to your bandas, the late afternoon invites you onto the tranquil waters of Lake Tanganyika for a peaceful boat excursion. Glide across the crystal‑clear lake, enjoy birdwatching along the forested shoreline, and soak in the golden hues of an African sunset.
This immersive Mahale experience blends world‑class chimpanzee trekking, breathtaking lake scenery, and serene wilderness moments one of the most unforgettable highlights of any Western Tanzania safari adventure.

Day 7: Scenic Lake Tanganyika Journey: Mahale to Katavi National Park
After a leisurely breakfast in Mahale Mountains National Park, board your boat for a scenic transfer across Lake Tanganyika to Mgambo village, where your safari vehicle and driver await. Begin your overland journey to Katavi National Park, traveling through remote highlands, traditional villages, and rugged dirt roads that reveal Tanzania’s untouched wilderness and authentic rural life.
Arrive in Katavi by late afternoon and continue straight into an evening game drive, with golden light sweeping across the vast savannah as wildlife becomes active. Enjoy sightings of elephants, buffalo, hippos, and predators emerging for the night in one of Tanzania’s most secluded and spectacular national parks.

Day 8-9 : Katavi National Park: Two Days of Untouched Wilderness and Big Game
With two full days in Katavi National Park, begin each morning with breakfast before departing for a full‑day game drive in one of Tanzania’s most remote and untouched wilderness areas. Katavi is home to enormous hippo pods, rich birdlife, vast floodplains, and rugged landscapes that offer a rare glimpse of Africa as it was a century ago wild, raw, and untrammeled.
On your second full day, continue exploring Katavi, one of Tanzania’s best dry‑season parks. This little‑visited reserve is famous for its powerful lion prides that hunt among spectacular buffalo herds, along with elephants, crocodiles, and diverse plains game. Its pristine, rugged terrain makes Katavi one of the most authentic safari destinations in the country. Dinner and overnight at Katavi TANAPA Bandas.

Day 10 : Departure
No rush on this final morning. Enjoy breakfast at leisure before your transfer to Mpanda Airport for your direct flight back to Dar es Salaam. Upon arrival, you will be met and assisted with your international flight connection or onward journey to a beach destination such as Zanzibar, Mafia, or Pemba. The scheduled Mpanda departure time is 11:10 AM on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
